I started journaling in the 90s not really understanding the very real benefits of journaling. I used it to record anything I studied and any challenges I went through. Years later I would reread and decide whether a journal was worth keeping or whether it had worked its magic, and was ready to be released.

In 2009-12 I studied a Advanced Diploma in Applied Social Science (Counselling), and throughly enjoyed the journey. I had studied an introduction to psychology in 90s; and thought it might be something I would do further, but honestly it just made me far too analytical. I also found the endless listening and repeating back very limited in its effectiveness. I then studied energy coaching 2012-15, which I had some similarities to sports coaching & energy work studied in the 90s. The thing I loved about coaching was simply that you ask the question “what is the issue, and what are you willing to do?” Then as a coach you offer suggestions and actions to take, with free will and choice. I found this process far more effective. Also with permission of would view the issue energetically to see what could be shifted energetically to assist the highest good of moving forward with ease and grace, and always with permission. I went on to study soul coaching oracle card reader, nutrition coach, spiritual life coaching, & clutter coach. I studied doing an art journal & morning pages from “The Artist’s Way”.

2026 I studied a Journal Therapy Diploma and it brought me back to a deeper understanding of journaling. It made me realize the benefits of journaling can keep you calm in the middle of chaos. It is where you can talk honestly with yourself, without judgement; and work through any issue without the need of expressing them to others, until they are fully formed and unemotional. I highly recommend journaling.

The possibilities of where to start today for everyone:

1. buy yourself a journal and a beautiful pen or pencil;

2. begin writing your everyday thoughts, as little as a few lines or bullet points to 15-20mins daily;

3. reread, reflect and learn from yourself.

4. find your calm, joy, and bliss with ease and grace.

Note: if you have a lot of unfinished business, thoughts & emotions; you may need professional assistance to process, release & let go.

If however you have years of study, tools and techniques like me, you can move through with a few hiccups, to find your calm, joy and bliss. May your journey be peaceful for the highest good and intent with ease and grace. Life is a learning journey, blessings on your journey.
